While police brutality isn\'t new, the usage of social media as a platform for activism has raised awareness around state-sanctioned violence in the United States, particularly against people of color. What impact do these videos have on activists, especially activists of color fighting for racial justice? Does the increased visibility of police brutality through these videos outweigh the potential negative impact they have on activists? In this session, we will reflect on the pros and cons of social media, the challenges and advantages of viral videos of police brutality, and brainstorm self-care tactics.
